Teen & Young Adult Programs at Boys & Girls Clubs
Boys & Girls Clubs are committed to serving teens and young adults with programs geared toward their needs and interests.
Career Launch encourages Club members ages 13 to 18 to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions and prepare to join our nation’s work force. Teens build their job-search and job-readiness skills and have opportunities to learn about various career paths through post-secondary school visits and business tours.
Keystone is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s ultimate teen program. This unique leadership development experience provides opportunities for young people ages 14 to 18. Youth participate both in and out of the Club in activities in three focus areas:
- Academic success
- Career preparation
- Community service
With the guidance of an adult advisor, Keystone Clubs aim to have a positive impact on members, the Club and the community.
Lyricism 101 is a program designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful, formidable voices of Club teens.
Recognizing the power of the literary arts, Lyricism 101 positions Club members as torchbearers and experts in the ancient oral poetic traditions that continue to thrive around the world. The program gives teens an opportunity to tell their stories, build community and express their artistic visions through music.
Money Matters is designed to help teens with proper money management and provide them the skills to enter the working world. Teens learn how to open a savings account, how to be responsible with credit and debit cards, and much more.
Youth of the Year
Established in 1947, Youth of the Year is the Boys & Girls Club of America’s premier recognition program for Club members, promoting service to Club, community and family, academic success, strong moral character, life goals, poise, and public speaking ability.
Local Clubs recognize members ages 14 to 18 as Youth of the Month winners and also select a Youth of the Year.
